Click GSD Painting and Decorating Contractors. While learning to really learn is a fairly simple technique, it creates enormous advantages for the overall project of painting and decorating as the finishes are both luxurious and stunning. To generate the “faux dragging” effect, a huge number of different glazes and latex paints can be used, but we would always suggest using an oil-based paint or glaze as it will give you more leeway in trying to manipulate it into the required styles as non-oil-based paints can dry up extremely quickly. The best thing about this method is that it not only works on walls and ceilings, but it can be applied to most types of woodwork and furniture easily. When a dry brush is pulled through a coloured glaze, the effect is generated. The base colour is revealed in very fine lines that make the wall look like silk fabric in this way. Dragging, over a white base coat, is most effective in soft colours such as pastels. In order to create a ‘vintage’ look, you can also use a cream or off-white base with tan or taupe colours.

So here are the steps that you need to take to do “faux dragging”:Use the two layers of a latex base coat to apply the (white or off-white). Leave the wall to dry for a minimum of two hours after painting both coats. In accordance with the instructions in the glazing liquid package, combine the satin latex paint with the latex glazing liquid.Apply the coloured glaze to a surface length that is workable.Start at one end and pull through the wet glaze with a 4-inch dragging brush (or any long-bristled brush). You can also use a dry rag to perform this technique.
